Get ready for the trip of a lifetime! Home to some of the most diverse wildlife, the Galapagos Islands will leave you speechless!

Visitors to the Galapagos can partake in a variety of outdoor activities including hiking and snorkeling! What better a way to experience the unique beauty these islands have to offer than swimming with the colorful fish, sea turtles, and eagle rays that reside among the reefs. Now is the perfect time to visit! July and August are the wettest months, which means this is the ideal time to enjoy water sports, such as canoeing, when the stream levels are higher than usual!

RealTraveler Go_gril tells us:

“The few days I spent in the Galapagos Islands have been the most incredible few days of my life. Big call I know!!

It was so diverse in landscape, so empty of people, so peaceful, so full of animals and it seemed like I couldn’t take a step without almost stepping on some creature!

We flew to the islands and upon landing we drove to the large island of Santa Cruz where we would just pull over, walk a few dozen meters off the road and see stunning landscape. We saw huge sinkholes in the earth from collapsed volcanoes and also walked 250 meters through a lava tunnel that was 10mtrs high for the most part, but half a meter short in one small section that we crawled through.” (more…)

In the mood to explore the land? Hop on a ferry to one of the many islands and discover the volcanic terrain. From black sand beaches to molten lava landscape, you will never grow tired of discovery in the Galapagos.

RealTraveler RUTH tells of her journey to Isabela Island and Volcano Sierra Negra:

“Next day did a tour to Volcano Sierra Negra the second largest crater in the world it last erupted in 1998. We went by road then horse back and had about an hours walk in the crater to see lava(old) hot water vents, lavertubes and big holes. Then returned to port Villimil.” (more…)

Looking for an adventure that will keep you as well as the kids entertained? Want to do something extraordinary and exhilarating? This week we will be highlighting adventurous vacations that people of all ages can enjoy! So pack your sunscreen as we explore these end-of-summer adventures!

Kenya Safari

Bring your binoculars; we’re going on safari in Kenya, Africa. There’s no telling what you might see on this adventure, from mud covered elephants, to zebras, giraffes, rhinos, and wildebeests, this is no trip to the zoo! You and the entire family can enjoy watching these animals in their natural habitat. Be sure to keep your legs covered and avoid wearing light colors (which attract bugs), as you venture out with your tour guide.

RealTraveler The Three Amigos writes about a visit to Abedere National Park:

“The Park is very lush, every shade of green you can imagine. They have had rain, so the watering holes are full, which is where we saw the warthogs. The terrain is hilly and covered in bushes and shrubs with occasional tall trees dripping with parasitic yellow and red ferns breaking the skyline. But green, it is so green. Along the side of the trails are high shrubs, almost like hedges broken up with small clearings and what look like cave openings into a deeper wood. Then, we would pass large grassy areas with more warthogs, or buffalo. This was not the “bush” I was expecting. This was more like the New Forest, or Yosemite without the mountains…” (more…)

Next, be sure to visit the amazing Lake Nakuru National Park! Known for its large population of flamingos, the kids will watch with amusement! With such beautiful pink and white colors all around, you have never seen anything like this!

The Three Amigos describe the sight:

“Lake Nakuru should be called Flamingo Lake. There are literally thousands of them. White and Pink. They are attracted here by the specific algae found in the Lake. As we approached, the lake looked like it was covered with pink flowers and then the closer we got the flamingos themselves standing on one leg, looked like they were just growing out of the water. This park had different animals – Alex said we were sure to see a lion or two (we didn’t) but they did have loads of giraffes and white rhinos and ostriches and baboons running around.” (more…)

Have extra time? Visit Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. Stop by at the Nairobi Animal Orphanage, and have dinner at the infamous Carnivore restaurant, where you can choose any kind of meat you want, including Ostrich meatballs.

Why wait? Escape the ordinary and plan your safari today!
