Get ready for the trip of a lifetime! Home to some of the most diverse wildlife, the Galapagos Islands will leave you speechless!
Visitors to the Galapagos can partake in a variety of outdoor activities including hiking and snorkeling! What better a way to experience the unique beauty these islands have to offer than swimming with the colorful fish, sea turtles, and eagle rays that reside among the reefs. Now is the perfect time to visit! July and August are the wettest months, which means this is the ideal time to enjoy water sports, such as canoeing, when the stream levels are higher than usual!
RealTraveler Go_gril tells us:
“The few days I spent in the Galapagos Islands have been the most incredible few days of my life. Big call I know!!
It was so diverse in landscape, so empty of people, so peaceful, so full of animals and it seemed like I couldn’t take a step without almost stepping on some creature!
We flew to the islands and upon landing we drove to the large island of Santa Cruz where we would just pull over, walk a few dozen meters off the road and see stunning landscape. We saw huge sinkholes in the earth from collapsed volcanoes and also walked 250 meters through a lava tunnel that was 10mtrs high for the most part, but half a meter short in one small section that we crawled through.” (more…)
In the mood to explore the land? Hop on a ferry to one of the many islands and discover the volcanic terrain. From black sand beaches to molten lava landscape, you will never grow tired of discovery in the Galapagos.
RealTraveler RUTH tells of her journey to Isabela Island and Volcano Sierra Negra:
“Next day did a tour to Volcano Sierra Negra the second largest crater in the world it last erupted in 1998. We went by road then horse back and had about an hours walk in the crater to see lava(old) hot water vents, lavertubes and big holes. Then returned to port Villimil.” (more…)
