Take the entire family for some fun at Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada. Set in the breathtaking Canadian Rockies, this Lake is the perfect place for relaxation as well as adventure. The kids will love to play in the outdoors at beautiful Banff National Park. You might also enjoy a professionally guided hike through Larch Valley, Staley Glacier, and Plain of 6 Glaciers. With over 113 trails, you will surely find a hike suitable for both you and the kids! Relax your mind as you go on a horseback ride through the golden fall leaves to Lake Agnes. However you choose to entertain yourself, be sure to keep a camera handy, as Lake Louise is set amongst the famous Victoria Glacier, a favorite destination for photographers.

RealTraveler Brisbird tells us:

“The view from our room of Lake Louise was amazing. It is hard to believe the color of the lake - a light turquoise. Today it is really cold outside - and as we looked up at the mountains, it looked like it was snowing!!! Not long after, as we were walking around and taking heaps of photos, a few flecks of snow start falling on us…We head off along the old highway towards Banff at around midday. We are limited on this road due to the native wildlife in the area, with the speed limit set to 50klm/hr. This makes the 130klm drive to Banff longer than expected. We stop along the way at Johnstone Canyon to stretch our legs on the 1.5km walk to the falls here” (more…)

This week we will visit some of the world’s most enchanting lakes. From Lake Como to Lake Louise, each destination has its own unique appeal.

Welcome to Lake Como, Italy. Known for its lush landscape and neighboring Alps, this place is sure to please. Lined with beautiful Italian villas and even palm trees, this lake serves as a relaxing getaway for all who visit. Stop by the town of Bellagio, located at the basin of the lake and enjoy the peace and quiet this low-key destination has to offer. Some helpful advice, trains from Milan depart for Lake Como almost every hour. Once you reach Lake Como it is easiest to travel by boat.

RealTraveler Stacy shares:

“In truth, my time in Como was Clooney-free. Sorry to disappoint. Lago di Como, however, was beautiful…or at least it was beautiful the one day it didn’t rain. Luckily, that was the day I picked to cruise the lake on the public ferries. Its about 2 hours by ferry up the lake to Bellagio, where I wandered for awhile enjoying the sun and the views. Then a quick 15 minute ferry hop to Varenna, a very quaint, teeny lake-side village. Then back to Como by the ferry again. It was, in a nutshell, gorgeous!” (more…)

RealTraveler 1sweetjourney tells of the Lake:

All I have to say about Lake Como is that it is beyond beautiful and if you readers ever get a chance you should go. I would love to go back and spend some more time there. It’s not the Italy you usually think about visiting. There are no big museums or artistic masterpieces other then nature’s own. It’s the perfect get away from the run around that usually occurs with trips to Europe. Rest and relaxation is the name of the Varenna game. Check it out sometime!! (more…)
