Known for its brilliant beaches, you can bask in the sun or even take a romantic walk down Denarau Beach at sunset. If you are in the mood for outdoor adventure, be sure to visit the Garden of the Sleeping Giant. Home to a variety of native plants, with over 2,000 types of orchids, this garden is located only ten minutes north of Nadi. Also, be sure to enjoy the warm waters of Fiji as you go snorkeling and diving at wonderful Wailoaloa Beach.

Also famous for it’s Hindu temples, you will be amazed after visiting Sri Siva Subramaniya Hindu Temple. The largest Hindu temple in the Southern Hemisphere, this is one of Fiji’s main attractions! Experience the beauty of the architecture and take in the culture of Fiji today!

RealTravelers Matt and Jess tell us about their trip:

“Whilst on the islands we stayed in traditional bure which are like little huts with a thatched roof, electricity between 6pm and 6 am and a resident mouse! Air con was top of the range and consisted of opening the shutter to let the sea breeze through. On the first island our bure was right on the beach front so we went to sleep and awoke with the sound of waves lapping on the shore - lush!

Whilst on the fijian island we visited local villages to try and get our heads around the local fijian way of life which is very basic. Visiting the islands was a great way of getting an insight into traditional fijian life which has been lost in many part of the main island to western culture.

We did loads of snorkeling and swimming, watched traditional fijian dances (including welcome and leaving songs for each island), visited villages, schools, drank coconut milk straight from the coconut, slept in hammocks, got a fijian massage (lush) and watched numerous beautiful sunsets. (Oh and of course…took absolutely millions of photographs!)” (more…)

Hurry and plan your trip to the Fiji Islands today!

Looking for a great beach getaway from Boston? Head to Cape Cod. Boasting destinations such as the Cape Cod National Seashore, Nantucket, and the famed Martha’s Vineyard, the Cape has a beach destination for everyone.

Cape Cod National Seashore is a public national park that is over forty thousand acres large. Visiting this park you can see six swimming beaches amongst the cliffs and dunes that make the Cape famous. There are a lot of hiking trails and plenty of “swimming holes” to experience the natural beauty of the coast of New England. This park can be accessed by car from any of the many towns scattered throughout the mainland of Cape Cod.

One of the most famous islands around the Cape, Nantucket, is also known for its scenic beaches. Get to the island by ferry, as it is located thirty miles off the coast. The beaches on the island attract every type of crowd. Some of the favorites include: Children’s Beach, Cisco Beach, Coatue, Dionis Beach, Jetties Beach, Madaket Beach, Siasconset (pronounced Sconset) Beach, and Surfside Beach.

RealTravelers The Bottomley’s enjoyed their time in the Cape last summer, specifically the beaches of Nantucket: “A really beautiful place. [Very] upmarket commercially but completely unspoilt in terms of the physical environment. Pristine and wild beaches which have completely public access …” (more…)

The other famed island is Martha’s Vineyard. Visited by celebrities and regular people alike, Martha’s Vineyard, eight miles off the Cape is a favorite summertime haven. As with all of Cape Cod, the Vineyard has many types of beaches to offer visitors. South Beach is a great place to surf, and for children, State Beach is perfect. The other public beach is Aquinnah Beach, also known as Moshup Beach. This beach features the Gay Head cliffs that are a must see while walking on the beach below. This beach also tolerates public nudity, so watch your step especially at the Northern End. The other beach is open to Martha’s Vineyards residents only during the summer months. This beach, Lucy Vincent Beach is open to the public the rest of the year.

Cape Cod, maintains its small town charm while hosting some of the rich and famous. Despite the international draw, Cape Cod manages to offer something for everyone, even travelers on a budget.
