Culture and Cuisine in Mexico City
Get ready to spice things up in Mexico City!
Experience the culture and cuisine as you stay in the capital of Mexico. First however, explore the city and its many museums. Take a stroll through Alameda Centrale, once an ancient Aztec marketplace and site of the Spanish Inquisition. Be sure to visit the Museo Frida Kahlo as well as the Museo Nacional de Antropología—they won’t disappoint! In need of some exercise? Climb the stairs to the tops of the Pyramid of the moon, Teotihuacan.
Now that you’re worked up an appetite, try some of the fabulous food Mexico has to offer, but be careful– it may be picante (spicy)! Some of the regional dishes include panuchos, cochinita pibil, and dried meat with eggs Nouveau Mexican. Often, dishes are served with tacos and tortillas. Let your taste buds sample what the city has to offer and even sip on Sangria.
