In need of a family getaway? Why not visit beautiful Bend, Oregon!

An outdoor lover’s heaven, Bend offers a variety of activities that will take you far away from the stress of city life! Take in the fresh air and venture out with the whole family as you go fishing on the Metolius and Crooked Rivers or even kayaking and rafting on The Deschutes River.

We also suggest the Paulina Plunge Downhill Waterfall Mountain Bike Tour. Although the name may intimidate, Paulina Plunge is a family activity that takes you down six miles of trails. Stopping for lunch, you can frolic in the river and slide down the natural waterfalls! This is a great opportunity to take in the beauty of Bend!

Be sure to visit the High Desert Museum to learn all about the history of Bend. Also, Smith Rock State park is an excellent destination for climbers and hikers alike, with numerous trails that stretch for miles!

RealTraveler The Gotcher Five recounts their family vacation:

“The entire Gotcher family — with husky Pinge in tow — made a quick weekend getaway to beautiful Bend…After checking in, we headed out for an afternoon of fishing. The Newberry Crater was on the “must see & do” list at www.visitbend.com, so we decided we “must see it!” However, as the afternoon was passing quickly, we decided to make a closer stop along the Deschutes River at Benham Falls instead. The views of the roaring rapids were spectacular…” (more…)

From sightseeing to mountain biking, Bend brings the family together in the wild outdoors. Plan your trip today and say goodbye to summer at the Bank of the Cascades Bend Fall Festival October 6th and 7th!

However, even if your not into extreme sporting, Interlaken itself will win you over with beautiful lakes and fresh mountain air. Enjoy the neighboring towns of Bern and Zurich, just a trainride away, or even ride the tram for breathtaking mountain views!

Realtraveler Just described travels in Switzerland:

“Twenty minutes later we arrived in Interlaken (the adventure capital of Switzerland - if you’re into paragliding from dizzy heights etc.) We soon found out that the restaurants were totally over-budget (250hk dollars/ 17quid per head for a simple main course - time to hit the supermarket for the rest of our stay and light up the hobs in the hostel kitchen.

Cycling around the great lakes, having a picnic beside the lake (Iseltwald), going up through small villages in the mountains, coming across waterfalls (Glassbach)and putting the bikes on a ferry and being taken slowly back to our starting point would have to be one of our best memories of the trip.” (more…)

From summer to winter, there are plenty of activities, whether in the sunshine or snow!

Book your trip to Interlaken today, you will not be disappointed!
