John Shawn and Dan in Dubrovnik, Croatia

Three friends - John, Shawn, and Dan– are traveling across Europe, and recently they enjoyed a magnificent stay in the charming old town of Cavtat, Croatia near Dubrovnik. They spent their days eating wonderful food at a local bakery, swimming and diving for hours in the Adriatic Sea, and catching colorful, resplendent sunsets each night.

Enjoy this excerpt from their journal, Paradise on Earth:

“We would head down the jagged rocks and find a place to lay down the towels and then swim for around 3 or 4 hours. The water was crystal clear and the perfect temperature. After diving with the fisk for a bit and exploring the rocks around the coast, we headed back to town to grab some food to cook back at our apartment. After cooking dinner, we always managed to time it perfectly so that we would catch the always amazing sunset. Maybe afterwards watch a bit of tv or play cards, nothing too strenuous of course.” (more…)

Lora_D in Kathmandu

Continuing her year of living in India, Lora_D recently traveled to Kathmandu, Nepal. She found the city to be a welcome reprieve from hectic Delhi, and shared a lovely description of the city:

“The city itself is comprised of winding, narrow roads that remind me of Rome with an Asian flare. The wood carving on the older buildings and temples is just gorgeous and provides great eye candy during the rickshaw rides through town. Owen put it well when he said that Kathmandu can make you feel like Alice in Wonderland. All of the doors are so tiny that it seems the town was built for children. It can all feel like one big fantasy village at times. I think the average door height is about 5ft, max.

There certainly is no shortage of temples either. As you go through the streets of the city, the narrow alley will suddenly open into a small square with one or two small temples. They could be buddhist, hindu, or a mix of the two.” (more…)
