From Kusadasi and Ephesus by -Kass-
On a trip through Europe with her family, RealTraveler -Kass- stopped in the ancient city of Ephesus, known for its incredible and well-preserved ruins of great historical significance. Wikipedia says Ephesus was called “the first and greatest metropolis of Asia”, evidenced by its extraordinary architecture and cultural contributions. -Kass- writes of seeing the Roman Theatre of Ephesus, the Roman Civic Library, and other wonders of this historic treasure trove:
“We went to Ephesus, which is one of the best preserved ancient towns. It is from the time of the Greeks and Romans, and St. Peter was there once spreading the Catholic faith. It was a very cool place, many ruins that were still intact. It was pretty easy to imagine what it used to look like. We also got lead through the terrace houses where the rich people of Ephesus lived.
In the terrace houses there was still a lot of excavating going on, so we didn’t get to see too much. There were many rooms where there was still paint on the walls, and mosaic floors that were in good condition. It was really neat to see.” (more…)
