Travel Photo of the Day: Making Friends with Monkeys in Bolivia
This is Yungas, one of many cute, playful monkeys that traveling team, Crystalo, worked with while volunteering at a wildlife refuge in Villa Tunari, Bolivia. Crystalo says working in the refuge was strenuous, but they seemed to have as much fun spending time with the monkeys as the monkeys had with them:
“Monkeys are probably the cutest animals I’ve ever spent time with. They are so playful and fun… I had a few favorites there that I am missing so much. This one monkey wouldn’t eat unless I was there helping her, she would always try to feed me her food, it was so adorable. This same monkey would cuddle up in my lad and sleep while holding my hand, she would also look for bugs in my hair if I let her. Most of the monkeys there were Capuchin monkeys, they are smaller and really cute. they had a few Spider monkeys that are really big and remind me a lot of people. These monkeys have an amazing prehensile tail. They also had 2 howler monkeys which make a lot of noise, they don’t howl so much as roar really loudly. I hope that some day I get back to Bolivia so I can go back and see my monkeys again.” (more…)
