From Montreal and Quebec - A Delicious Duo by Olga1122

Are you ready to catch up on your sleep, spoil your taste buds with delectable cuisine, tempt your mind with new experiences, and all while reconnecting with your significant other? A husband and wife team, Olga1122 recently found all this and more in Montreal and Quebec, where they went to rest and relax in style. The stayed in a gorgeous hotel with amenities designed to pamper, enjoyed long conversations in a laid-back, quaint cafe in Rue Saint-Paul over tasty, cold pints of the local beer, and took in the charming European architecture of Vieux Montreal.

With Montreal still sweet in their memories, Ogla1122 headed for Old Town Quebec. Here is a lovely excerpt about this visit from their journal Montreal and Quebec - A Delicious Duo:

“Our base camp in Québec was Auberge Saint-Antoine (www.saint-antoine.come) nestled in the lower part of the Old Town which is where we headed from the train station. The morning of our arrival was sunny, breezy and cool; the sky - postcard-quality azure blue. The fairy tale town rose before us in steep terraces, like a picture in a pop-up book, unreal almost in the North American context. The quality of air - crispy, fresh from the close proximity of the great water - reminded me of my beloved Stockholm.

Discovering Québec was a treat as every twist and turn in our path revealed yet another quaint courtyard or exquisitely painted building, a small but perfectly proportioned church, a battlement, an old gate. The cool but sunny day was perfect for walking as, trust me, negotiating the steep climbs would make you break a sweat. A couple of street musicians, French speech all around, excellent food and a prospect of yet another day in this enchanted place made us mellow and heedless of time.” (more…)

Ogla1122 said the travel blogging community helped them plan this relaxing trip to Montreal and Quebec. If you’re looking for advice about where to eat, stay, or what to do on your next trip, check out what other travelers have said about their trips by visiting the RealTravel Destinations page.

Through Catlins to Milford Sound by John & Lynds

Recently, RealTravelers, John and Lynds had quite an adventure in and around Mildford Sound and the Catlins Coast of New Zealand. After spotting yellow eyed penquins, hiking on trails along precarious cliffs, and visting the lighthouse at Nuggets Point, they headed to Milford Sound to take a boat cruise and were lucky to spot dolphins swimming nearby:

“Once on the boat we were off, and soon had a partner for the journey. A dusky dolphin had decided to give the passengers a treat by jumping in and out of the water and following the boat. You could lean out of the front of the boat and be eyeball to eyeball with the cheery fellow only a metre or so away. And he continued to follow us for half an hour, jumping in and out of the water, and generally just playing about. We floated down towards the sea with enormous cliffs on either side, many of which had water cascading down them.” (more…)
