California’s Mendocino Coast

written by Jenica Szymanski

Fort Bragg & Mendocino by Kvans

During their road trip north along the California Coast, RealTravelers Kvans, spent a few days enjoying the coastal towns of Mendocino and Fort Bragg. Impressed by the small town charm, great resturants, beautiful beaches and other delights, Kvans found plenty to do and see in Fort Bragg:

“We arrived in Fort Bragg on Father’s Day in time to get some dinner and beers at the North Coast Brewery - very good beer (Lars had the Red Seal and I had the Blue Star) and good food. The next morning we went along Highway 1 down to Glass Beach. Glass Beach is an old dump that has been cleaned up, but the glass bottles that remained have since been sculpted by the surf into smooth green, brown and white glass rocks.” (more…)

They also enjoyed spending time in the town of Mendocino:

“We then went south on HIghway 1 to the quaint town of Mendocino for lunch and walked all over the town, which is right on the water. I wish we had more time to shop in Mendocino! The town has really unique shops and it reminds me of New England plus the view is spectacular. We really enjoyed the “Art that Makes You Laugh” gallery - the woman working there was great. The art by Leedy is actually really funny! The town is also very dog friendly - all sorts of dogs were in town and allowed to go into the shops.” (more…)
