Martin & Thuy-Ly in Hoi An

Here’s a great photo from Martin & Thuy-Ly, two RealTravelers who have been traveling through Southeast Asia and sharing great stories in French. On a recent visit to Hoi An, they captured this photo which seems to translate lovely in all languages.

Wow!! by Laura and Neil

Want to celebrate the cold winter months instead of escape them? Canada embraces winter by hosting a variety of Winter Carnivals. Laura and Neil, recently visited Whistler and were lucky enough to visit during Winter Fest. Currently living and working in Vancouver for the past few months, Laura and Neil have been in the city and the snow. Here’s an excerpt from their weekend at Whistler, it includes the drive up to the resort, an adventure in itself:

“To get to Whistler Blackcomb, you take the Sea to Sky Highway which was voted one of the best drives in the world for its views etc!! I’m not too great reading maps and sitting in cars going round bendy roads, so I didn’t feel too great but it didn’t take too long to get there, only about an hour and a half. Plus the trip did not have too many hairpin bends like you find in some mountainous resorts!

Neil’s parents enjoyed themselves there and we had a lovely lunch in one of the local restaurants. We did not manage to ski as it was very busy and time was getting on. For the ski season in may/june/july, there is a train which runs from Vancouver to Whistler and they are doing special return deals for residents of BC, so neil and i may go on that when/if we save up some money and try snowboarding or skiing then!!” (more…)

Visit Canadian Winter Carnivals for a list of events to mark your calender for next winter.
