From The Ritz to the Batu Caves by slau

Slau is a traveler to follow if you are thinking of heading to Asia or Southeast Asia, and especially if you like to mix your traveling with a little bit of luxury. Check out her Luxury Living in Singapore journal for a great hotel recommendation and for her first impressions of Singapore:

“Landing on the airstrip, I couldn’t help but notice there is barely a speck of dust! The airport is awesome, and the cab ride into town offered a quick view of the city/state/country, all wrapped in one! At one point, a cabbie told me the 5 hours it takes for me to drive from Los Angeles to San Jose, they can drive the perimeter of Singapore 3-4 times! Pretty small country, eh! Singapore is a very developed and advanced country, the freeways are uniformly tree-lined, there are high-rises, and the financial district. There are still signs of the early days along the Singapore River, and parts inland, but for the most part, Singapore is very comparable to Hong Kong, Shanghai, and even New York, only A LOT CLEANER and sterile! I love this place!” (more…)

She’s been traveling since the beginning of February, having left her job to see the world. Visit her travel page and stay tuned for the rest of her adventures!
